During lockdown, when the days blurred and the news was relentless, Louize sat down with a large solid wood dining table, a vast pile of magazines, a pair of scissors and an idea. What followed was weeks of cutting, arranging and layering — until every inch of the surface told a different story.
Look closely and you'll find a giraffe grazing next to a Vogue cover. A toucan beside a Yorkshire road sign. An astronaut, a red London bus, a riot of butterflies, bold feminist typography, exotic birds, architectural photography, psychedelic colour and quiet monochrome — all colliding in a surface that rewards every look with something new.
The legs are painted yellow. The edge is painted purple. Neither choice is accidental.
Then she sealed it. Ten coats of outdoor varnish, applied with the same patience and care as everything that came before it.
